The Incident

  • SWFRS have reported the above-mentioned fire involving the mobilisation of three pumping appliances, involving an electrical appliance
  • The fire was contained/controlled by the actuation of one fire sprinkler head with minimal fire damage reported in the vicinity of the incident

Business Continuity

  • Major fire avoided preventing major disruption in the wider community
  • Business impact minimal preventing financial and equipment losses
  • Minor interruption to the day to day running of the business

Environmental Benefits of Sprinklers

  • C02 emissions dramatically reduced
  • Reducing excess water used by the FRS, eliminating water supply contamination
  • Materials and resources required to repair and rebuild the premises not required reducing CO2 emissions

When you compare this incident to a major industrial fire reported by the Business Sprinkler Alliance involving a laundry business where SPRINKLERS WERE NOT FITTED the devastating impact of fire on businesses can clearly be identified.

  • Fire Rescue Service Resources required; 12 fire pumping appliances, 2 Aerial Appliances over 60 firefighters
  • Warehouse destroyed by the fire
  • Major business disruption, requiring temporary site

If fire sprinklers had been installed, the outcome could have been so much different……….
