CFRS have reported a fire within a commercial building ion the second floor involving a waste site conveyor belt which sustained extensive damage.
The fire was suppressed by the operation of the onsite deluge system containing the fire before the arrival of operational crews.
Crews attended from Carlisle West Fire Station locating several seats of fire which was extinguished with a hose reel jet,
What is a deluge system?
A fixed fire protection system designed to protect against a specific risk/hazard. A large number of open-ended nozzle heads simultaneously activate to bring the fire under control.
